Doesn't seem to be many posts these days in comparison to a few weeks ago. I think the odd bit of a slanging match between users hasn't helped either.

You're quite right Dependable, the posts have been pretty thin lately and it's exactly as you say - people tire of the petty bickering that's been going on. This forum is primarily about one thing - POOL - and the folks and teams that play in Coventry and it's surrounding areas.
As a complete outsider, I am ceaselessly amazed at how the good natured camaraderie in this sport turns to jealousy, spite and even violence - you expect things like this in more primal, tribal games like football and rugby, but in non-contact sports like pool, snooker and darts?
Someone starts a perfectly innocent thread and all of a sudden the usual suspects hijack the subject and chip in with offensive one liners about people containing more bad grammar, spelling mistakes and smilies than you can shake a stick (cue) at. The nice software program that runs this forum even underlines your spelling mistakes for you as you type! And if offenders really must resort to school playground modus operandi, why must they do it in public? Argue by all means but use the private email facility - all that happens now is essential bandwidth gets wasted and my email box is full of sh**e every day!
What must our new visitors to YOUR forum think of all this - welcoming? friendly? interesting? informative? innovative? It's no wonder that many members sign up and never come back - just take a look at the members list if you don't believe me. This place ought to be a glowing testament to the Sportsmanship and Integrity in our City but it's a far cry from that just now, and a wasted opportunity.
My old Dad used to say "If you've nothing worthwhile to say about something, say nowt (and, pointing at me) and shut the f**k up"
....and I didn't post this to start an argument - if you want to start an argument you will have to pay me another £5 _________________ Mister Bridger

Correct answer. Gets tedious listening to 100%'s drivel. A forum should be about opinion and having a laugh not used by someone delibrately out to wind people up with chav talk.

Well said Webmaster. The only way to get people posting again on a more regular basis is to suspend said numpties, or even expel them completely !

I couldn't agree with you more Lee. I've tried the polite approach, but that fell on deaf ears, although the usual suspects have been remarkably quiet this week. We've both put a huge amount of time and effort into this site ( you more than I by a long way ), and I'm extremely disappointed at how quickly users have dropped off as a result of a couple of idiots.

I issued final warnings last weekend, and anyone who oversteps the mark will be suspended. I hope I don't have to, but if I do end up suspending anyone who's hiding behind anonymous IDs, I'm also very tempted to publicly 'name and shame' them.

Nope the posts have definatley dried up recently with what seems like a few half dozen or so die hards( or sado's) posting frequently( i include my self in this). Further more not many original posts or many new threads started. Come on the city pool league start using this resource or lose it. I've a few ideas for the future but wont waste my time if the activity doesn't pick up. I haven't counted but I bet there are at least a dozen people who have registered and not posted. Maybe they've been frightened off. Remember there is a fine line between having a laugh and posting something that is over stepping the mark.

Well said pie muncher. See that is a case of not overstepping the mark. Dependable loves pies AND he likes munching them.

How about a general chat room where we can discuss the general goings on in the world, politics, football, latest news etc?

This has already been discussed on another post. Unfortunately this will take a great deal of time, and money, neither of which are available I'm afraid.
