Your not trying to flog that broom handle thats cluttering up your cue case surely pukka. Do the decent thing and wait to bonfire night, the thickness of that cue will keep the fire going all night.

The pointy end takes ages to melt. Might bury mine and have a little epitaph wishing it every eternal happiness in cue heaven. A heaven with good chalk and a nice comfy warm case where it could meet other cues it once knew or came from the same tree.
