Coventry Superleague

Postby reds on Thu Sep 17, 2009 1:31 am

hi all.

this is something that has been in the pipeline for a while.

this singles league will commence in november and will be played to the best of 24 frames thus incorporating a draw senario.

each player will play each other once and will be 2 points for a win and 1 for a draw.

the entry stake for this league will be £100 per person. all money will be returned in prizes.
qualifiers, should they be needed will be run at £12.50 per head for 8 players.

fixtures will be posted at the start of the league but matches can be rearranged , within reason so as to not disrupt the league.

the division will be split into two groups , which will be decided by the league committee. i.e. steve shelton , liam farrell and mark white. the entries ,which fall into the top 5 will, as will the other 5 be entitled to all the prize money available. however when a top 5 player plays a top 5 player the winner will receive £10 from his opponent. if a top 6 player beats a bottom 5 player then that player will receive £5 from the bottom 5 player.
if a bottom 5 player draws with a top 5 player he will receive £10 from that player but if he wins he will get £15 from the top 6 player.

sounds complicated but its not unless you are from leamington and your name is rob and this is to ensure that all matches are competitive and that all players can earn from this league.

any queries then just contact me.

regards,

martin.

Martin, You should ban all those Leamington based players that have signed on from Deano's team from entering this.

If they cant be arsed with turning up for the team on a Monday night then , stuff them.

So in theory a top 6 player that loses every game will have shelled out £240 whilst a bottom 6 player losing every game will have shelled out £180.

Personally I doubt that all players can "earn" from this league and suspect that actually the only ones to show any kind of profit will be the usual suspects. I don't expect many players to pay £100 to participate in a league
they have little chance of winning.

I think those that enter will be learning the game rather than earning from the game ...............

Have to agree Craig,
So on a good run a top 6 player beats all in his group earning 5 x £10 (£50)
He beats all in the lower group earning 6 x £5 (£ 30)

Grand total of £80 making a loss of £20 in my book, Its the taking part that counts, right

Don't think Martin mentioned how much for a bottom player winning against his own group.
